Jacques Domergue, M.D.

Married and father of 4 children, Jacques Domergue is a university professor and hospital practitioner at the University of Montpellier-I, he is a digestive surgery surgeon and general director of the Montpellier Cancer Institute (ICM).

He was president of the National Board of Surgery.

He was elected deputy in 2002,  and regional councilor for the Languedoc-Roussillon area. He was re-elected deputy in 2007, and municipal councilor of Montpellier in 2008.

He initiated a bill adopted in December 2008, which reformed health studies with the creation of a first year common to health studies (PACES) L1 Health (medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, sage -femme) in an attempt to fight against the massive failure of PCEM1.

In April 2011, he was appointed by the Minister of Health Xavier Bertrand,  on the favorable opinion of the Board of Directors: Managing Director of the Val d’Aurelle “Paul Lamarque” Regional Cancer Center in Montpellier.

Jacques Domergue is Member of the American College of Surgeons,  and Honorary President of the French Society of Endoscopic Surgery.
