
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Doctor of Science, specialized in biological and medical engineering, Michel Therin has
developed over the last 30 years a multitude of medical devices that have become leaders in the field of invasive interventions. First, on behalf of a French startup, Floreane Medical Implants, for which he managed the research and development, strategy and operations until its acquisition in 2006 by Tyco Healthcare. Tyco Healthcare, now Covidien, then entrusted him with various global roles of responsibility in technology development and general management of various surgical product lines.
After the acquisition of Covidien by Medtronic, Michel Therin was appointed General Manager of the General Surgery business for Medtronic. In early 2018, he joined Siemens Healthineers to take over as president of the interventional imaging business, called Advanced Therapies, one of the three businesses reported to the stock market since the IPO occurred in March. He is redefining the strategy and led the first acquisitions associated with it.
At the beginning of 2022, he left Siemens and returned to France to help several start-ups in their development, including Caranx Medical, of which he is the general manager.
